  did you intend to leave your estate to the wts when you died?.

  in several threads ive read, ppl make comments to the effect that theres no point leaving money to jws, because they would just leave the money to the wts anyway.. .

  this is an assumption that i believe is a generalisation.. .

  after reading this internet link below about the profoundly shocking, sadening and traumatic account of mary aguilar, an ex-jw woman's systematic treatment and abuse, what do you think regarding the action her jw abusive husband, the congregational elders, and finally, the wts attitude when she finally reported the accident to them?

  I recall one case locally where a very seeming gentle kind elder was exposed as a wife beater. His wife left him and moved congregation, he was removed as an elder and publicly reproved.

  Is it rare for it to be handled this way?

  But i did walk infront of our current prime minister of australia at a set of traffic lights one day! He was on a walk in Melbourne, i squeezed past a photographer and some guy in a suit... when i looked back after crossing the intersection i realized who it was.

  Why is the bible silent on Lazarus?

  the only fully human man recorded to have been resurected from the dead and the bible says nothing.. the religious leaders of jesus day were all over people that jesus 'cured' etc, and the bible records these events.

  questioning them, the parents etc.. but lazarus?

  zip, nada, nothing save the account that he was resurected.

  The recipients of the the greatest mirical you could get and they kept it to them selves... either that or it was lies after all... Why was so much detail put into the accounts of miricals by the apostles and yet not one saw fit to have these peoples testimonies recorded? Sounds a bit suss to me.

  The religious leaders of Jesus day were all over people that Jesus 'cured' etc, and the bible records these events. Questioning them, the parents etc.

  But Lazarus? Zip, nada, nothing save the account that he was resurected. What happened to him? why was he and his sisters not questioned? And if they were, why is this not in the bible?

  What would be the WBTS answer to this?

  (matthew 24:3-8; luke 21:11) such developments bear powerful testimony to the fact that 1914 indeed marked the birth of gods heavenly kingdom and the beginning of the last days of this present wicked system of things.2 timothy 3:1-5. this is lifted from the jw website article on 1914. it is not funny how they fooled so many of us.

  this is lifted from the JW website article on 1914. It is NOT funny how they fooled so many of us. I read this and went:

  Hang on a minute! These things could only be a sign if they had NOT occured before! But history is liberally peppered with all these and pestilences that make some of todays look like common colds.

  This 'Jesus' fellow predicted NOTHING NEW. And then Peter had the audacity to add that those who thought like this were in fact proving it WAS the last days! Talk about circular reasoning!

  Its like me claiming to be the returned messiah based on predicting it will rain next winter.

  Old news to many of you i am sure... there was a time i wouldn't sleep if i dared think like this!

  A WAR IN HEAVEN

  4 The preceding chapter in this book explained that Jesus Christ became King in heaven in the year 1914. (Daniel 7:13, 14) Soon after he received Kingdom power, Jesus took action. “War broke out in heaven,” says the Bible. “Michael [another name for Jesus] and his angels battled with the dragon [Satan the Devil], and the dragon and its angels battled.”* Satan and his wicked angels, the demons, lost that war and were cast out of heaven to the earth. God’s faithful spirit sons rejoiced that Satan and his demons were gone. Humans, however, would experience no such joy. Instead, the Bible foretold: “Woe for the earth . . . because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”—Revelation 12:7, 9, 12.

  5 Please notice what would result from the war in heaven. In his fury, Satan would bring woe, or trouble, upon those on earth. As you will see, we are now living in that time of woe. But it will be relatively brief—only “a short period of time.” Even Satan realizes that. The Bible refers to this period as “the last days.”

  So if Satan is responsible for the trouble post 1914, who is to blame for the last 6000 years of trouble? And if satan is, then it makes no sense that he takes out his fury on mankind by doing what he has always done...?

  What the heck is wrong with my freind?

  well, i already posted about the jws clearly having thier doctrine just crap.

  but i told my friend and it seems like it's just not getting through.

  like he will say he'll look into it, but he really won't or i'll give him a 12 page paper that is 3/4th scripture countering nay destroying a jw doctrine out of the reasoning book and he won't do anything... just blank out.

  WOW!

  great letter. She should be proud not sad.

  It seems to me that she has lost sight of the fact that the parents role is to raise the child till it can be independant and hopefully along the way nurture a good moral compass.

  She has done her job well, as have you mr flipper. The difference is that you see that, your son sees that, she does not.

  what she is doing is no different to the parent that pushes a child into a career that it does not want... i'm a doctor and you damn well will be too...

  all the best... i wonder what reply she will make?
